Hominin behaviour during the Middle to Late Pleistocene transition: Insights from the Lingjing site (Xuchang, Henan, China) in a global perspective

The Middle to Late Pleistocene transition is shaping up to be a critical period for hominin dispersals and behavioural development in many regions of the Old World. Yet, relatively little is known about hominin behavioural variability in vast regions of the globe such as East Asia. The International Symposiym aims to introduce the Lingjing site to the scientific community, and compare the recently updated evidence yielded by this site with penecontemporaneous hominin occupations from around the world.

. Abstracts and presentations

1. All participants are invited to submit an abstract in English no later than Jan. 1, 2020. The abstract should include: title, authors’ names (capitalized family names), affiliations, corresponding addresses and text. The abstract text maximum length is 250 words.

2. The symposium will organize both oral and poster presentations. The official language of the symposium is English and all presentations must be delivered in English. Multimedia facilities will be provided for the oral presentations; and a special area will be reserved for posters.


. Expenses:

1.Registration fee:

There is no registration fee for all participants. Local transport, meals during the conference period, conference kits will be covered by the organizer.

2.Travel and visa cost:

Transportation and visa cost are to be borne by the participants.Theorganizingcommittee may providefinancialsupport for transportation costto alimited number ofparticipants from developing countries.Pleaselet us know if you need financial support.

It is very likely that you will require a travel visa to travel to China. Please refer to the Chinese Embassy website of your respective country for further details. We recommend that foreigners choose the option of a TOURIST VISA. Attendees are responsible to obtain in due time the travel documents required to participate to the Symposium.

3. Transportation on arrival and departure in Qingdao:

Participants can arrive by air travel to the Qingdao Liuting International Airport (青岛国际机场) or by train to the Jimo North Station (即墨北站). Pick up between the airport or train station and the Symposium location will be organized.

4. Accommodation:

Rooms will be reserved for all the participates at the Crowne Plaza, Ocean Spring Resort, Qingdao. Room rates at the Crowne Plaza: Twin roomandDouble room (one large bed) of the main building isabout $60per day.

5. Post-symposiumexcursion:

Post-symposiumexcursion is free of charge.
